Yep, there have been some finished objects – which means I was busy sewing this week.

First of all, I finished a green shopping bag that I owe someone!  So, it will be in the mail tomorrow…along with a few other items…

Secondly, there was the pillowcase that has to go to my quilt guild tonight!  I was happy to get this second one done – as both of the ones I made with this fabric are going to children in hospitals.

Couldn’t tell which one of these two photos showed off the pillowcase the best – it’s dogs…with a bone fabric for the cuff…I think this might be a gift – not sure.  But, I have enough fabric to make myself one just like it.

Think this pillowcase will be for me…I just feel happy when I look at it…and I love my fabric choices…

And, what was Killian doing while I was so busy sewing:

He was sleeping on my new sheets! 

Today is my beautiful daughter’s birthday…

Sue over at Life Looms Large hosts the Colors of the month – and since it is June – this would be the Colors of June…

My June offering is of my garden…This is the first garden that I have attempted on my own.  I admit my neighbor helped me by showing me how to turn the earth and plant some things…but, mostly, I’ve been doing the garden by myself. 

I simple cannot believe how much work this little garden is – I have been weeding a lot lately!  But, I cannot believe how much I would love it…I find that sitting in the dirt and pulling weeds and watching my little plants come up is extremely rewarding.

This is my basil – something besides me likes it.  You can see the holes in the leaves.

And…here we go!

1. On vacation, I like to walk on the beach or hike in the woods, read, knit and maybe do some hand quilting.  And, eat all kinds of new interesting foods.

2. I love to feel the waves splash on me when I am in the ocean.

3. One of my favorite vacation spots is Maine.  I love Maine – almost as much as New Hamsphire.  The coast reminds me of the time when we lived in Puerto Rico.

4. I haven’t seen the full moon recently.

5. Up, up and away in my beautiful balloon!  Now I’ll be singing that all day.

6. Bananas are not my favorite food.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to to finishing my laundry and watering my garden – then I’m going to take a wonderful shower, tomorrow my plans include getting caught up on mail and knitting and Sunday, I want to make sure all my household projects are caught up  and chill out!

This week-end was quiet.  Saturday morning I dropped by Four Pines Quilt shop – it was nice to spend a bit of time with friends.  Didn’t buy a lot – but a few fabrics for gifts.

Spent the evening and today watching the U S Open – I was thinking that today the Open would be really dramatic…but, it wasn’t.  No one really made a charge for the lead – and I was happy to see the fellow that played the steadiest win.

Working on a knit pair of socks – and they are coming along rather well.  As a matter of fact, I should have the first one finished this week.  Then it will be on to the second sock…and my shawl.

Killian and I tried to stay cool today – the temps were up there!  We got not enough rain – just heat!!!
