Blogger's Quilt Festival…

myhousesampler1

Cabin in the Pines

For:  Old Town Quilt Guild Challenge – 2002 – had to have a house and use a certain fabric.  The fabric is the green that is used for the roof, lawn, and the bottom tree.

Pattern Source:  Sampler Quilts Magazine

Quilt size:  26 x 36

This was my very first completed quilt.  It was begun on June 2002, the top finished in July 2002 and totally finished September 2002.

It was machine pieced and machine quilted by me.

That’s a great quilt! And it was your first? That’s amazing, it looks so professional. (I’ll show you photos of my first attempt at a quilt, it was BAD.)

What an accomplishment. It’s really lovely and it certainly does look very professional. How’s the bronchial ailment coming along….hope it is on it’s way out.

As someone who always does my own quilting on my little sewing machine, I understand the nodd to “I did this all myself”. Which reminds me of a book loved when I was little “I can do it myself”. No wonder I still feel the sense of pride over completely finishing my own quilt.

The concept of this quilt is rather interesting, were you limited to any theme or was it fine as long as you used the provided fabrics?

Wonderful first effort! At first I couldn’t figure out why a lady who likes to make socks would be interested in quilts….but I’ve learned about the multiplicity of blogs as a result. Thanks so much. I’ll be adding you to my feeds.

    Hi Sara,
Your quilt you posted in your blog for Fall Quilt Festival is really cute. It is so nice to think that you finished your first project so quickly. (in the same year even) I love the brighter country style colors too.
