Fabric n Fiber Fanatic

I love getting mail!  But, then doesn’t everyone!  Recently my mailbox has brought a few surprises…and  some winnings…

Let’s start with:

My friend, Pat, decided she was going to give away some blocks.  The only stipulation is that when we make something out of it we need to post something about it… I love the block – the colors are bright and cheerful!  Am thinking I may make a wall hanging for a friend of mine who is expecting in September!

Over at Romancing the Yarn, my friend, Barbara Bretton, decided to give away some yarn…and I won!  It is:

Soie Bambou; 65% Silk/35% Bamboo; 680 yards; 223 stitches = 4″; color: 6239 Celadon Green.  I’m thinking pretty, lacey scarf.  Yea! 

Oh, and if you haven’t read Casting Spells by her, you might want to give it a go.  Pretty good book!

For years I have been entering the writers contests over at Writers Space and I actually won.  I didn’t realize I had until the book arrived at my door.   A Doctor’s Secret by Marie Ferrarella is a Mills and Boon Intrique (Harlequin’s branch across the big pond) and I do like books with a bit of mystery and romance.  It’s next on the to-be-read stack!

And, last but not least – the beautiful shopping bag from Sheree.  It is a nice size bag to use for shopping.  The bag is made out of linen and then has this great flower appliqued on with the center being a neat button…Really like this bag.  She makes great bags among other things and is a really nice person.  Her blog is a lot of fun!
